I have always loved books and stories, and grew up listening to my mum reading aloud from the classics, as well as stories she wrote specially for me. She instilled in me a love of books, and also a passion for music. I became a professional musician, playing and teaching piano; it’s a wonderful thing to pass music on to the next generation, and it’s great to give pleasure to people playing at their parties, their weddings and other celebrations. As a boy I lived in a London suburb, but now I’m in Norfolk, where my two children grew up larking about and sailing their little dinghies on the beautiful Norfolk rivers and broads. Although my children are now grown up and have left home, I still live here and I still love it.
